Cycling: Mixed emotions for Froome as Ineos departure nears

Chris Froome is hoping to leave Team Ineos on a high after competing in the Vuelta a Espana. Froome: "It is a sort of bag of mixed emotions really. It's suddenly strange thinking that I won't be in Ineos colours in a few months time. But after 11 years coming down to the Vuelta again, it's a race that I genuinely enjoy racing. This year's edition is going to be quite different. It's not the typical Vuelta in mid-summer, August, in Spain. But I'm looking forward to racing and looking forward to finishing my time at Ineos on a high, hopefully. Signs in training have been better and better. I'm feeling more like myself again, which is fantastic. But it's hard to actually quantify that when I haven't been able to race and see where I'm at against rivals. So I'm going to take these first few days and see where exactly I'm at and I think, from that point, I'll be able to have more of a clear plan for the rest of the race and know exactly what kind of job I can fulfill at that point."
