Cycling: Tearful Groenewegen sorry for Tour of Poland crash which put Jakobsen in coma

Dylan Groenewegen has given an emotional interview and apologised for the part he played in Wednesday's crash near the finish line of the first stage of the Tour of Poland. Fabio Jakobsen, who races for Deceuninck Quick-Step, was sprinting to the line with fellow Dutchman Groenewegen when the latter deviated from his line and sent Jakobsen crashing through roadside barriers. Jakobsen suffered injuries to his eye socket and jaw, prompting doctors to operate on him for five hours on Wednesday. The 23-year-old emerged on Friday from an induced coma.
