Boxing: Screen fun as boxers Joyce and Wallisch have socially-distanced face-off

Boxing fans got a view of the 'new normal' of pre-fight face offs on Tuesday when British heavyweight rivals Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce squared up either side of a disinfected plastic screen after an open-air media conference in London. Both London boxers are unbeaten and scheduled to face each other in a huge domestic clash at the O2 Arena in the UK capital on October 24th. But before that, each fighter will make their comeback from the coronavirus lockdown against German opponents in behind-closed-doors bouts at a London TV studio over the next few weeks. 34-year-old Joyce added to the surreal nature of Tuesday's head-to-heads pretending to be a mime artist behind the screen when facing off with Michael Wallisch, who faces over ten rounds on Saturday. Joyce (10-0-0) won a silver medal in the super heavyweight division at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and will fight for the British, Commonwealth and European heavyweight titles when taking on the 22-year-old Dubois (14-0-0), who must firstly defeat unbeaten two-time Olympian Erik Pfeifer on August 29th.
