Badminton News: Kiren Rijiju extends support to BAI to conduct India Open

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has extended his support to the Badminton Association of India in conducting India Open saying that he will assure all the possibilities in the best way possible. The Super-500 event will be held between March 30 and April 4 and incidentally, this would be the qualifying event for Tokyo Olympics which India got a chance to host after 2012. When it comes to qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics, then only a few shuttlers including PV Sindhu, Sai Praneeth, and men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty seems promising, whereas for shuttlers like Kidambi Srikanth and Saina Nehwal, it still seems like a distant dream.
