Badminton News: Ajay Jayaram makes winning start at SaarLorLux Open

Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram made a winning start at the ongoing SaarLorLux Open by beating Belgium’s Maxim Moreels in straight games. Ajay Jayaram defeated Belgium’s Maxime Moreels 21-8, 21-8 in a match that lasted just 19 minutes. Jayaram faced troubles while competing against the Belgian, but maintained his momentum in that match that hardly witnessed any smashes. Ajay Jayaram will now face 20-year-old Irishman Nhat Nguyen in the second round. Defending champion Lakshya Sen and 2018 winner Subhankar Dey were given byes in the first round which means that both the shuttlers have a strong chance to enter QF.
