Ashleigh Barty dismissed former world number one Karolina Pliskova in the Miami Open final for the biggest win of her career. The 12th-seeded Australian fired 15 aces, won 32 of 37 first-serve points, and was broken just once on the way to a 7-6 (7/1), 6-3 victory and her fourth career title. Pliskova edged ahead 3-1 in the first set before Barty settled into the match and forced a tie-break, where a perfect drop shot set her up for a one-set lead. Barty then rode her momentum in the second set, dropping just two points on her own serve to clinch the title off one last unforced error from Pliskova. Barty will rise to a career-high ranking of number nine next week.
