Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said on Friday the Covid quarantine red list exemption for international footballers announced by the UK Government is "not a real solution" and complained about the different rules in England as opposed to other European countries. Fully vaccinated Liverpool internationals visiting countries on the UK's red list in this month's international break will be allowed to avoid quarantine in a Government-approved hotel when they return to Liverpool, provided they adhere to strict 'bubble' conditions while on national team and club duty. These include staying in a club facility - rather than at home - for a 10-day period after their return to the UK and leaving that facility just once a day to train or play. Klopp has four Liverpool players due to visit red zone countries this month: Brazil's Alisson and Fabinho, Greece's Kostas Tsimikas and Senegal's Sadio Mane. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said he does not have a "real answer" about the situation regarding those of his players who will be travelling to red-list countries to play international matches during the month of October. City goalkeeper Ederson and forward Gabriel Jesus have been called up to Tite's Brazil squad, who travel to Venezuela and Colombia before hosting Uruguay this month in CONMEBOL 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. English Premier League players will be allowed to travel to red-list nations to represent their countries during this month's matches - but only if they are fully vaccinated. But it is understood they will have to quarantine in "bespoke facilities" for 10 days upon their arrival back in the UK, and will only be permitted to leave quarantine once a day to train or play.
