Football News : Chelsea to prepare a bid for Tottenham’s Harry Kane?

Chelsea is closely monitoring Harry Kane's situation at Tottenham Hotspur because there is a lot of conjecture about the forward's future at the moment. Romelu Lukaku was returned on loan to Inter Milan for the 2022-23 season, therefore the Blues are hoping to add a new striker this summer.

However, a deal for Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been rejected, despite the Portugal international appearing to be available. Kane is 'very attractive' to Thomas Tuchel's team, according to German journalist Christian Falk,

He is the one who claims that the London giants are keeping an eye on the issue involving the England captain. Falk asserts that Chelsea have little hope of persuading Spurs to allow the 28-year-old to join their Premier League rivals.

With their head coach Julian Nagelsmann lately refusing to rule out a bid for the striker, Bayern Munich has been heavily connected with Kane.

Nagelsmann told reporters:

"He's very expensive that's the problem - but brilliant player,"

"[Kane] is one of two or three who can play as a centre forward [as well as a] No 10, but he's very strong, brilliant with [his] head and both feet,"

"He could score a lot in the Bundesliga, I don't know the price, but it's really tough for Bayern Munich. We'll see what happens in the future."

The reigning Bundesliga winners are reportedly long-time admirers of Kane and are looking for a successor for Robert Lewandowski after he joined Barcelona. Kane's current contract with Tottenham is set to end in June 2024, and the North London club is apparently eager to start talks over an extension.

Last summer, Manchester City came very close to acquiring the striker, but the Citizens and Spurs were unable to come to terms on a price. Spurs are said to have made it clear to prospective teams that their star player is not for sale this summer.

However, there have not yet been any official discussions, according to reports which gives a fair chance to every club to get his signatures.

During the 2021-22 season, Kane made 50 appearances for Antonio Conte's team, scoring 27 goals and dishing out 10 assists. Overall, he has made 386 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 248 goals and dishing out 59 assists.

Meanwhile, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn recently told Bild:

"He is under contract at Tottenham. Sure, he is an absolute top striker, but that's all a dream of the future. So let's see what happens,"

Bayern's recent comments have angered Tottenham boss Conte, with the Italian telling reporters:

"Honestly I didn't hear this. For sure I'm a coach who doesn't talk about players from other teams. I don't know why [this happened]. The situation at Tottenham is very clear. The plan is very clear with the club.

This summer's transfer window saw Chelsea bring in two new players: Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
