Dawid Malan isn't ruling out an unlikely England victory in the first Ashes Test against Australia after the tourists finished day three on 220 for 2 in their second innings.

Malan survived an appeal on 16 - Australia left to bemoan the lack of a Snickometer in Brisbane due to technical problems - and was 80 not out at stumps.

Captain Joe Root finished the day unbeaten on 86, but England are still 58 runs short of Australia's first innings total and the odds remain stacked against them heading into day four.
