Cricket News : There is no problem between me & Rohit- Kohli blames media for 'lies'

India captain Virat Kohli has said he was only told ninety minutes before a team selection meeting that he was being sacked as the captain of the ODI team.

Speaking at a pre-departure press conference in Mumbai, ahead of India's tour to South Africa, Kohli said, "there was no prior communication with me at all since I announced the T20 captaincy decision up till the 8th of December."

That contradicts the statement by BCCI president Sourav Ganguly a few days ago where he said the Board had spoken to Kohli and persuaded him to continue as the captain in all white-ball cricket formats.

The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) had announced Rohit Sharma as the new captain in all white ball formats - both ODIs and T20s.

The Indian media had reported earlier that since being removed as ODI captain, Kohli had made himself unavailable for the three ODIs to be played in South Africa.

Kohli contradicted that story as well as the reports detailing his tiff with the captain that replaced him, Rohit Sharma. Kohli added, "I have been clarifying this for the past two and half years regularly and I'm tired of clarifying this."

India are scheduled to play three Test matches and three ODIs against South Africa, starting with the Boxing Day Test at Supersport Park in Centurion.
