Australia's white-ball cricket captain Aaron Finch has called for fast-tracking the team planning for the next ICC Cricket World Cup scheduled in 2023 in India. Finch was the captain of the Australian team at last year's Cricket World Cup in England. Finch's call comes on a day when Cricket Australia postponed the short ODI series against Zimbabwe in August due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Finch said the players have not been notified of their next game even though most players would be planning for the tour of England. Australia is scheduled to tour England for a short ODI series this year though dates are yet to be confirmed. Finch also said Ben Stokes was a great player and will have the respect of his team as the England all-rounder was named the stand-in captain for the test match against the West Indies following the regular skipper Joe Root's decision to miss the match for the birth of his child.
