Ben Stokes describes captaining England as an 'honour', with Joe Root set to miss the West Indies series. Stokes: “I haven't fully dived into the whole idea yet, on purpose, I'm just waiting for the right time to do that. But yeah, look, it's still a long way off. I'm sure when it gets a little bit closer and it's 100 per cent confirmed that I'm in charge, I'm sure the mindset will change. Getting the opportunity to captain England is a huge honour. Even if it's only the once, you can still say that I've captained England. It's a huge honour to think about and something that I'm really looking forward to if the opportunity presents itself. But also, at the same time, I know I'm only stepping in to take over the reins for the one game because of Joe's [Root] personal situation. I don't know if I can say much more on it. It's a huge thing to think about and if it does present itself then I'm really looking forward to it."
