The Boxing Federation of India has rejected boxer Amit Panghal’s plea for a personal coach and also a physiotherapist for his Tokyo Olympics preparations. The BFI has said that they there are several reasons for why the federation cannot grant approval for the same and few of them are the fear of being flooded with such requests by the elite boxers of the country and also the rules and regulations of BFI. In fact, the BFI argued that current coaching set-up comprising of high-performance director Santiago Nieva, coaches C A Kutappa and Dharmendra Yadav, among others, are well-equipped to provide proper coaching to the boxers and they can very well handle the Tokyo hopefuls.
