Hsieh Su-wei of Chinese Taipei enjoyed an impressive upset at the Miami Open, beating world number one Naomi Osaka 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-3, in the third round of the Miami Open. Hseih made the most of a slow start to seize an early break in the opening set, only for Osaka to hit her stride and produced some stunning shots as the took the opening set 6-4. She pushed on from there, and seemed to be in control of the second set after an early break of her own. But Hsieh battled her way back into contention and levelled the match with a well-placed winner at 6-4 in the tie break. The Chinese Taipei player had to come back from losing an early break once more, as Osaka started the third set strongly. As errors crept into the two-time Grand Slam winners play, Hsieh stepped up her challenge playing the key points deftly and taking her win with a forehand smash when serving for the set. She will now face a former World number one - Caroline Wozniacki - in the fourth round.
