Roger Federer was given a scare by Radu Albot in the second round of the Miami Open before eventually coming through in three sets against the Romanian qualifier. The three-time Miami Open champion lost the first set against Albot before responding in fashion to seal a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win in two hours and 10 minutes. That victory saw Federer avoid another embarrassing opening-round defeat after he crashed out of the Miami Open at the first hurdle in 2018 against Thanasi Kokkinakis. Victory saw Federer claim his first win from a set down in Miami since he beat Andy Roddick in three sets in 2012 and sets up a third round clash with Filip Krajinovic, who earlier on Saturday dumped Stan Wawrinka out of the tournament.
