Football: UEFA will have to make FFP reforms - sports lawyer Rob Jones

A sports lawyer has suggested that UEFA will have to review their Financial Fair Play regulations. Rob Jones: “It seems like, effectively, the rules don’t have teeth. It comes back to the main point that the public have seen an email and are saying, ‘oh is it ok that Etihad are paying £8 million and Sheikh Mansour is paying the remainder up to £67.5 million’ and they’re not getting banned having spent £1.3 billion since they bought the club. How are these guys complying with FFP and if UEFA aren’t able to sanction them based on this information, what can they do? Surely the current FFP is not fit for purpose and they’ll be under a lot of pressure for a review of it."
