Basketball : Real Madrid hold off Bayern Munich comeback for 82-72 Euroleague win

Real Madrid fought off a spirited comeback from Bayern Munich to secure a fourth straight Euroleague victory. Real triumphed 82-72 against Bayern in Germany. Accurate three-point shooting from Anthony Randolph and Sergio Llull helped Real jump out to an 11-point lead at the end of the first quarter, which they had extended to 15 at half time. However, Bayern clawed their way back into the contest and reduced the deficit to two early in the fourth quarter, but that was as close as the home side got. The Spanish side pulled away in the closing stages to improve their Euroleague record to 12-2 and remain in second. Bayern fell to 7-7 and remain on the fringes off the play-off positions in eighth.
