The round of 16 matches on day two of the All England Open Championships saw former world number one Nozomi Okuhara safely through to the quarter-finals. The fourth seed downed Line Kjaersfeldt 21-12, 21-16. Top-seeded women's doubles pairing Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan were severely tested by England duo Chloe Birch and Lauren Smith, and had to save two game points in the second before coming through 21-16, 22-20. England's men fared better as Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge put out fifth seeds Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the men's doubles.
