Wrestler Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal in the men's freestyle 65 Kg category at the Tokyo Olympics defeating Kazakhstan's Daulet Niyazbekov 8-0 in the bronze medal match. This was India’s second medal in wrestling in the Tokyo Olympics after Ravi Dahiya's silver medal and sixth medal in wrestling at the Olympics. Bajrang Punia also becomes the fifth wrestler after KD Jadhav, Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, Sakshi Malik and Ravi Dahiya to win an Olympic medal. Indian wrestlers have won two medals in Tokyo Olympics, a silver and a bronze equaling the figure of the London Olympics when Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt won a silver and a bronze respectively.
