Sebastian Korda booked his place in the second round of the Lyon Open after beating Pierre-Hugues Herbert in straight sets on Monday. Herbert broke back to make it 5-5 in the opening set, but the Frenchman fell behind 5-0 in the ensuing tiebreaker and Korda eventually took it 7-5. The American, ranked 65th in the world, forced the only break of the second set, converting a solitary break point in the tenth game for a 7-6(5), 6-4 victory. Korda will face Seventh seed Felix Auger-Aliassime or Lorenzo Musetti in the next round.
