The Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team lost to Great Britain 2-1 in the final of the 9th Sultan of Johor Cup in Johor Bahru on Saturday, 19 October 2019. Right from the hooter it was India forcing the pace and put Great Britain on the back foot. They were forcing the attacks, creating more circle penetrations but their finishing was letting them down. However, it did not turn out to be India’s day in the final as the Indian team finished runner up. In an exclusive chat with Power Sportz Indian coach BJ Kariappa said that the lack of Penalty corner conversions and circle penetrations did hurt India in the final but he also added that the team was the most dominating side in the tournament and the future of this team is very bright.
