Golf: Thomas Pieters holds first round lead at the European Tour's Celtic Classic

Belgian Thomas Pieters holds a one-shot lead going in to the second round of the Celtic Classic at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales. The 28-year-old carded an opening-round 64 (7-under par) in his first tournament since March and since the birth of his first child. Neck and neck with Englishman Toby Tree (65) for much of the day, he managed to take the outright lead with a birdie on the 18th, while a group of seven players sit two shots back at -5. Pieters was in trouble early, with a bogey on the par-5 second, and it wasn't until the sixth when he picked up a shot. But he rallied to round out the front nine at -1 and six birdies on the back nine saw him take the lead.
