Golf: McIlroy shoots eight-under-par to lead Abu Dhabi after Round 1

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy produced his lowest-ever round at Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on a weather-affected first day of the 2021 Race to Dubai season. After morning fog caused a delay of nearly three hours, the 31-year-old posted an impressive eight-under-par 64 to set the early clubhouse target. England's Tyrrell Hatton is one shot behind at seven-under, with Paraguay's Fabrizio Zanotti third in the leaderboard a further shot behind. Defending champion Lee Westwood is tenth after a three-under 69.
