Football: Ulsan Hyundai win Asian Champions League over Persepolis

The Asian Champions League final back to just a single game for the first time since 2012 and that was the year of Ulsan Hyundai's only triumph. But 8 years later in Doha and things did not look good after Iran's Persepolis scored the opener, a quality finish from Mehdi Abdi after a bad error from the Ulsan defence. The Teheran club were the losing finalists two years ago. But since then VAR has made an appearance and it was used to give Ulsan a penalty just before the break. Yoon Bit Garam making the most of it. And via a circuitous run-up it was finished, second time lucky, by Junior Negao, his 25th goal of the season. And then in the second half, VAR was consulted when Mehdi Shiri stuck his hand in the air with Junior Negao lurking behind him. There was no doubt about this one, and the Brazilian scored his second of the game. And that was the Final wrapped up as Captain Sin Jin Ho lifted the trophy, a compensation for their second-place finish in the K-League, the fifth time that had happened in the last 10 years
