Spezia upset Serie A leaders AC Milan with a 2-0 win in La Spezia on Saturday. Both sides shared possession throughout, but Spezia made better use of their time with the ball, with almost three times as many shots on target. Giulio Maggiore broke the initial deadlock when he found nothing between him and goal in the 56th minute as Milan defenders swamped Matteo Ricci as he craftily shifted the ball to his left. Simone Bastoni made it 2-0 when he latched on to Nahuel Estevez's free-kick to weave the ball through a forest of Milan defenders in the 67th minute.
