Football: Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic beat St Mirren away from home

Celtic secured a 2-1 victory at St Mirren to tighten their grip at top of the Scottish Premiership. After the victory Celtic remain five points clear of Rangers atop the table. Midfielder Callum McGregor and winger James Forrest scored in the first half to give the visitors a 2-0 interval lead. The home side reduced the deficit two minutes from time but it was too late for them to draw level.
