Football: PSV come from behind to beat Venlo 4-1 and join Ajax at the top of the table

PSV Eindhoven drew level with Ajax at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie table on Tuesday with a 4-1 win over VVV Venlo at the Philips Stadion. Roger Schmidt's side made it seven home wins out of seven this season, but they had to come from behind in this one after Jafar Arias had given Venlo the lead against the run of play in the 22nd minute. Philipp Max equalised from the penalty spot before the break, then his 49th-minute corner was headed in by Olivier Boscagli and Cody Gakpo's angled shot on the hour put the game beyond the visitors. Bayern Munich loanee Adrian Fein put the icing on the cake in stoppage time. PSV now have 33 points from 13 games, behind Ajax on goal difference. Ajax visit Willem II on Wednesday in their 13th game of the campaign.
