Football News: Tottenham 'revoke permission for Harry Kane to undergo Bayern Munich medical'

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly revoked Harry Kane's permission to travel to Germany for a physical with Bayern Munich.

Spurs ultimately accepted a bid of roughly £86.4 million for their talismanic striker on Thursday, bringing the long-running transfer saga to a close.

Bayern had previously rejected multiple proposals, but the accepted deal appeared to leave it up to Kane to decide where his future lay.

The 30-year-old is said to have decided to quit Tottenham for Bayern late on Thursday night, after verbally agreeing to a four-year deal at the Allianz Arena.

Kane was supposed to fly to Munich this morning to have a medical and sign the deal, but there has been another snag in the process.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Spurs have now withdrawn their approval for Kane to fly in order to make some last-minute revisions to the deal.

The elements available for re-discussion are regarded to be small, but discussions are hampered by Daniel Levy's presence in the United States, and so in a different time zone.

Kane has been left at the airport, waiting for authorization to board the plane and fly to Munich to finalize the move.

Tottenham's record goalscorer, Harry Kane, is in the final year of his contract, which means that unless he signs a new deal, this summer is the club's only chance to collect a substantial transfer fee for him.

The England captain is the Premier League's second-highest scorer and has made no secret of his desire to overtake Alan Shearer at the top of the table.

However, he has yet to win a significant team trophy in his career, which is said to be the driving force for his upcoming move to serial German champions Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich are looking for a new striker after failing to replace Robert Lewandowski, who moved to Barcelona last summer.

Kane has long been their main aim, but Levy and Spurs have refused to lower their asking price and are content to keep the striker if that sum is not met.

Manchester United were also prominently linked with a bid for Kane earlier this summer, but they shifted their focus to other targets due to Kane's high asking price and Levy's unwillingness to sell to a Premier League competitor.

The striker wanted to know his status before Tottenham's first game of the season, which is against Brentford on Sunday, and was thought to be leaning towards staying at Spurs prior to Thursday's developments.

Kane, who is anticipated to be given the number nine shirt in Bavaria, will not arrive in time for Bayern's German Super Cup match against RB Leipzig on Saturday.

However, if the deal goes through without hiccups, he might make his debut for the champions in the first game of the new Bundesliga season next Friday against Werder Bremen.

Kane has a club-record 280 goals in 435 games for Spurs in his 12 years as a senior player, and he is also England's record goalscorer with 58 in 84 appearances.
