According to reports, Manchester United is prepared to make a late-season approach for Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech. The 29-year-old joined Stamford Bridge from Ajax in July 2020, and since then, he has played 83 times for the London club in all competitions,
During his time at Stamford Bridge the Dutchman scored 14 goals and dished out 10 assists. Ziyech made 44 appearances for Thomas Tuchel's side last season, scoring eight goals and dishing out six assists.
However, he did not play in either of the team's first two Premier League games of the 2022-23 season. Erik ten Hag, the manager of Man United, is thought to be eager to sign the Moroccan international after working with him at Ajax from 2017 to 2020.
According to a recent source, Ten Hag was having trouble persuading the Man United board, that the attacker would be the best acquisition during the summer transfer window.
Nabil Djellit, a journalist, claims that the club hierarchy is now "more sensitive" to the situation and eager to sign him if Chelsea is willing to accept a reduced offer.
According to Djellit, Ten Hag considers Ziyech to be a "priority" because the Dutchman is eager to strengthen his attack before the summer transfer window closes. The Moroccan has three more years left on his current deal and he has already won some of the prestigious trophies with the Chelsea football club.
Ziyechhas won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup while playing for Chelsea.
"The Ziyech move to AC Milan has stuttered a little and if that situation drags on let's not rule out the idea that Ten Hag looks to take him to United instead,"
transfer insider Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT last month.
Although Milan are still thought to be interested in the attacker, he may now be given the chance to stay in the Premier League.
With back-to-back losses to Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion to start the 2022-23 Premier League season, Man United has fallen to the bottom of the standings.
As a result of Adrien Rabiot's hefty salary demands from Juventus, the 20-time English champions are said to have lost interest in the midfielder.
Casemiro of Real Madrid is thought to be considered as a midfield substitute, with the Red Devils' interest in Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona possibly waning.
With Cristiano Ronaldo perhaps being allowed to leave, Man United is also rumoured to be keen to sign a new center-forward to Old Trafford before the transfer season closes.
On August 22, Ten Hag's team will host Liverpool at Old Trafford in the Premier League in an effort to avenge their recent losses to Brentford and Brighton.
