According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe is willing to consider a move to Liverpool in 2024.
The future of the 2018 World Cup winner has been a hot topic of discussion throughout summer, with the player and his club at odds over his contract.
However, a solution that appears to suit all sides has been reached, with Mbappe being reintegrated back into the first-team picture.
However, with only one year left on his contract, the 24-year-old is certain to leave Parc des Princes next year.
Although a number of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in signing him, Real Madrid has always been seen as his most likely destination.
Los Blancos were unable to complete a large-money signing during the most recent transfer window, but their rumoured intention is to pursue their long-term interest in January or, more likely, next summer.
Nonetheless, Liverpool, according to L'Equipe, should not be ruled out as a possible future club for Mbappe.
According to the report, Mbappe would contemplate a move to Anfield if the Merseyside club made an official attempt for his signature.
Previously, it was assumed that Liverpool would be unable to finance Mbappe, despite the fact that the player is a fan of the club.
Mbappe is also believed to support manager Jurgen Klopp, who is facing the risk of losing star player Mohamed Salah to a Saudi Arabian club in the future.
If Liverpool decides to cash in on the Egypt international for a cost in excess of £150 million, they will have the funds to become a competitor in the hunt for Mbappe.
With Salah frequently deployed on the right, Mbappe could theoretically serve as a direct replacement while also being a viable alternative in the middle.
As things stand, Liverpool are adamant that they would not sell Salah before the Saudi transfer window closes on Thursday evening.
