Chelsea are reportedly considering a surprise bid for Arsenal forward Emile Smith Rowe.
The Blues were consistently active throughout the summer transfer window, helping Pochettino create a squad for this season.
Despite the wealth of quality that has come at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea remain short in the final third. Christopher Nkunku has a hamstring injury that will keep him out until the end of this year.
Moreover, Armando Broja must prove his fitness after suffering a major knee injury in December. Pochettino has stated in press conferences on several occasions that he is eager to find another attacking option.
Given the talent that will hopefully return to the fold in due time, the Argentine has intimated that a short-term fix is preferable to a long-term commitment.
Nonetheless, the Daily Mail reports that Chelsea are ready to put Arsenal's determination on Smith Rowe to the test in the coming days.
The England international grew up a Gunners supporter and has 18 goals and 11 assists in 97 games in all competitions.
Despite those impressive figures, Smith Rowe has only played 161 minutes of Premier League football since the start of last season, owing to injury.
However, under Mikel Arteta, the 23-year-old is no longer considered a first-round pick and may be limited to rare opportunities in 2023-24.
Smith Rowe has been an unused replacement in each of Arsenal's first three Premier League games this season, giving Chelsea hope that a sale would be considered.
A transfer is not thought to have been heavily canvassed as of yet, but it is a possibility that club officials appear to be considering as they seek to provide a new face for Pochettino.
Jorginho and Kai Havertz have both left Chelsea for Arsenal since the start of 2023, so the two clubs are no strangers to doing business.
