Football News : Brazilian footballers trapped in Ukraine issue rescue plea

There was an appeal to Brazil's government on Thursday to help footballers from the country plying their trade in Ukraine.

Shakhtar Donetsk forward Fernando's video message came amid Russia's military invasion of the neighbouring nation.

"We haven't got enough fuel in the city, borders are closed as it is the airspace. Therefore, we cannot leave," said the 22-year-old  former Palmeiras player.
