Following back-to-back defeats, Napoli were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-of-the-table Torino in Serie A on Wednesday. After a goalless first half, Torino took the lead in the 56th minute through Armando Izzo, a centre-back originally from Naples, whose volley into the ground bounced high over Alex Meret and into the net. Napoli had to wait until deep into stoppage time to get their equaliser, Lorenzo Insigne scoring with a curling shot to deny Torino the three points. Torino have now dropped no fewer than 23 points from leading situations in Serie A this season. The draw leaves Napoli fifth in the table going into the Christmas break.
