Football: Manchester United beat Derby County 3-0 in FA Cup fifth round

There was no happy reunion for Wayne Rooney as his Derby County were beaten 3-0 by former club Manchester United in the fifth round of the English FA Cup. Rooney - United's record goalscorer - is now captain of the Championship club and almost gave his new side the lead with a free-kick that visiting goalkeeper Sergio Romero did well to keep out at his near post. United though were getting on top and took the lead after 33 minutes when a shot from Like Shaw ballooned off the back of Jesse Lingard and looped into the net. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side had a second through a neat finish from January signing Odion Ighalo. The Nigerian added a third with 20 minutes left - but there was still time for Rooney to go close once more with a free-kick and once more he was denied by Romero.
