After a boring first half, Denis Genreau scored his first A-League goal at the late second half and Matt Derbyshire sealed the victory with a lob shot to beat Brisbane goalkeeper Jamie Young before the game entered the stoppage time. With this win, the Bulls moved up to the third place of the table while the Roar remained on the second place with just one point advantage ahead.
