Jamie MacLaren claimed the Australian A-League Golden Boot with a second half brace as as Melbourne City headed into the Finals Series with a 3-1 win over Western United on Wednesday. A tally of two goals on the night meant the 27-year-old Australian striker became the top scorer with 22 goals, two ahead of Sydney FC's Adam Le Fondre. The win continues City's unbeaten run since the competition's resumption and sends them into the semi-final of the A-League Grand Finals series. Western United finished in fifth spot and will take on fourth-placed Brisbane Roar in an Elimination Final on Sunday. The other Elimination Final features third-place Wellington Phoenix against Perth Glory on Saturday.
