A first-half brace from forwarding Samuel Di Carmine won it for the hosts, with each side having a man sent off, Fabio Borini for the home side in the 35th minute, with visitors Cagliari losing Mattia Zaccagni in the 70th minute. The win sees Verona move up to seventh in the table with 38 points, one adrift of Napoli, who occupy the final European berth for next season.
