Didier Deschamps' France won their second FIFA World Cup title against Croatia by 4-2. Within the first 20 minutes, Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic scored an own goal for France. After getting 1-0 ahead, Antoine Griezmann made the scoreline double-bobble through penalty seven minutes before the end of the first half. While in between these two goals, Ivan Perisic added an equaliser for the Blazers. Just like the first half, France added two to Croatia's one. Pogba and Mbappe tallied one each to kill the match before the first 20 minutes of the second half. Mario Mandzukic replied after Hugo Lloris' blunder in the 69th minute. However, failed to capitalise afterwards.
