Football: BVB’s Zorc not happy with results as under-pressure Terzic reveals extensive player talks

Under-fire Borussia Dortmund interim head coach Edin Terzic has revealed he had "extensive" talks with his players after their 2:1 defeat at Freiburg on Sunday left them sixth in the Bundesliga. The 38-year-old German, who took over from the sacked Lucien Favre in December, has presided over a run of three defeats in their last four league matches, leaving last year's runners up 16 points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Sporting Director Michael Zorc, who say alongside Terzic in Thursday's virtual media conference, expressed his dissatisfaction with current results but said the team had enough quality to end the season in a top-four position and qualify for the UEFA Champions League. To achieve that target Terzic must get his team winning again when they face 12th-placed Hoffenheim at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday. Thorgan Hazard is in contention to return to the team after injury but the west German side will have to do without experienced defender Lukasz Piotr Piszczek, after a muscle injury while right-back Thomas Meunier, goalkeeper Roman Burki and defender Dan-Axel Zagadou won't be available for selection until next week.
