Benfica remain within two points of Sporting at the top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga, after a 2-0 win over Gil Vicente in Barcelos on Sunday. The Portuguese giants couldn't find a path to goal in the opening half but gained an opportunity when Vicente went a man down just before the break. Ygor Nogueira was handed a second yellow card and sent off for striking Darwin Nunez during a challenge. It was Rodrigo however, who gave the visitors the edge in the 59th minute when he headed an own goal while trying to clear Everton's attempt. Everton himself made it 2-0 with a header from almost the same spot seven minutes later.
