In the 2019 summer, Chelsea appointed their all-time record goalscorer Frank Lampard as their new head coach. The Blues lost to Manchester United in their opening Premier League game of the season but took a great ride of stability until the end of November. However, Chelsea lost too many points in the month of December and January, which led many unstable teams to still aim the fourth position in the domestic league table.
