India captain Virat Kohli has called for "absolute clarity" before the decision to embark on their upcoming tour to South Africa, where the new Covid-19 variant omricon has emerged in the recent weeks.
Speaking in Mumbai on Thursday, Kohli said "we have been talking to the Board and we are pretty confident within a day or two or pretty soon."
The India 'A' team that has been in South for the past few weeks have not been asked to return despite the emergence of the omricon variant.
Kohli's team is expected to travel to South Africa mid-December for a seven-week tour where they are scheduled to play three Test matches, three ODIs and four T20 internatioanls.
