Cricket News: Sachin Tendulkar gives his take on pulsating Ashes series

The cricketing world experienced one of the most enthralling Ashes series, with many twists and turns practically every day.

Four of the five Tests were completed, with the fourth ending in a draw after a significant amount of time was lost due to excessive weather. Australia retained the urn, but England will be proud of how they rallied back to tie the series 2-2 after losing the first two games.

The famous Sachin Tendulkar showered compliments on the home team, who played some thrilling cricket, particularly in the last three games.

The former India captain described England's gutsy recovery from a 2-0 deficit in the series as a "tribute" to the game's longest format.

"From being 2-0 down to drawing level, England's tenacity in this #Ashes series is a tribute to the beauty of Test cricket. The ability to rebound demonstrates the depth of character and the mental fortitude this format demands. Mother Nature might have denied us a series result, but that didn't dampen the spirit of this incredible game. A series to remember for a long long time,"

Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.

Stuart Broad, 37, revealed after Day 3 of the fifth Test that this would be his final game in international cricket. Broad, who had dismissed Tendulkar three times in nine innings, finished the match for England on Day 5 in front of enthusiastic English spectators at Kennington Oval. Tendulkar praised the bowler for having a fantastic career that ended on a good note.

He wrote on Twitter:

"A phenomenal career draws to a close. @StuartBroad8, your relentless spells and unwavering dedication will forever be etched in cricket's annals. A fitting end to your career. Enjoy the next innings!"
