Cricket News: Ricky Ponting appointed assistant coach of Australian men's cricket team

In a big news for Australian Cricket, former - world cup winning captain Ricky Ponting has been appointed as the assistant coach of the Australian men’s team for the World cup in England later this year. The 44-year-old Ponting will work with Australia's batsmen for cricket’s showpiece tournament, while current batting coach Graeme Hick will focus on preparing the side for the Ashes tour in England, starting in August. Ponting comes in with a wealth of experience having lead Australia to victory in 2003 and 2007 and has previously worked with the Australian T20 team in short stints. Prior to the World Cup Ponting will be coaching Indian Premier League side, Delhi Capitals.
