Cricket News: Kuldeep Yadav attributes recent success to Virat and Rohit

Kuldeep Yadav made his international debut in 2017 and delivered some memorable performances, including a stunning hat-trick against Australia at Eden Gardens.

However, his form gradually deteriorated, and he fell out of favour for selection in the Indian team.

During the Indian Premier League 2022, the left-arm wrist spinner persevered and rediscovered himself, taking 21 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 19.95. He returned to the Indian setup and has performed admirably whenever he has been given the chance.

The 28-year-old hailed seasoned cricketers like as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for their support as he strives to become an important piece in India's plans.

"Seniors play a big role. When I brought the changes in my game, Virat bhai and Rohit bhai supported me a lot. They have shown confidence in me. They are backing me,"

Yadav was quoted as saying by India Today.

Kuldeep Yadav demolished West Indian batting in the first one-day international on Thursday, July 27, which India won by five wickets. The skilled spinner finished with amazing figures of 4/6 in three overs and was duly named Player of the Match.

Kuldeep Yadav has been in excellent form for India recently. Between 2020 and 2021, the spinner took just nine wickets in eight ODIs. However, he has 31 wickets in 17 games since 2022. He is, however, not a regular member of India's playing XI.

India will visit Bangladesh for a two-match Test series in 2022. Yadav was named Player of the Match in the first Test after scoring 40 runs with the bat in the first innings and taking eight wickets.

However, the Uttar Pradesh bowler was inexplicably left out of the starting XI for the second Test. Yadav added that he has learned to accept such situations with grace.

"Most of the time, when I don't get to play, it is because of the situation and combination. It is a normal thing now, I have been playing cricket for so many years, it has been more than six years now. These things are normal,"

Yadav ended.
