Boxing News: Boxing Federation of India postpones elections, will they get recognition?

In a very surprising decision, the Boxing Federation of India has postponed its elections which were supposed to take place on December 18 in Gurugram. Hours after nominations were filed, the president sent a circular announcing the postponement of elections. Some members felt it was the right decision considering that senior members like Meren Paul, Rajesh Bhandari, Lenny de Gama are not keeping well and will not be able to travel amid the Covid-19 situation. Altogether, there were requests from about 23 units to postpone the elections. This very decision of the BFI might put them in trouble as the sports ministry had made it necessary for 14 NSFs to conduct their elections by December 31, 2020.
