Boxing News: Amit Panghal wins gold at Asian Boxing Championship

India boxer Amit Panghal won his second successive gold of the year at the Asian Boxing Championships in Thailand. Panghal, who won the Asian Games gold medal, last year, defeated Korea’s Kim Inkyu by a unanimous decision. He came into the tournament on the back of a gold at the Strandja Memorial Tournament in February in Bulgaria. This was his maiden international competition since moving up to 52 kg from the 49 kg division earlier this year Kavinder Singh Bisht (56kg) had to settle for a silver after losing his bout in a unanimous decision. National champion Deepak Singh (49kg) also ended his campaign with a silver medal.
