The Los Angeles Lakers lifted the Larry O'Brien trophy for the 17th time on Sunday, celebrating their 2019-20 NBA Championship success after a tumultuous season. Before trophy was presented, league Commissioner Adam Silver described the accomplishment as 'bigger than basketball', acknowledging how the campaign's restart becoming a platform for racial equality amid the COVID-19 pandemic. And Lakers owner Jeanie Buss wants the record-equalling championship to serve as a tribute to Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, as well as a reminder of what can be achieved through teamwork.
