Vincent Wong Wing Ki ousted Angus Ng Ka Long 21-16 21-13 in an all Hong Kong men's singles quarterfinal to advance to the semifinals of the BWF Indonesia Open in Jakarta. Indonesian top seeds Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo eased into the men's doubles semifinals of their home open win a 21-19 21-12 win over China's Ou Xuan Yi and Zhang Nan. Fourth seeded Akane Yamaguchi knocked out Nitchaon Jindapol of Thailand 21-17 21-14 in women's singles while Malaysia's Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing defeated the English husband and wife mixed doubles team of Chris and Gabrielle Adcock 21-15 14-21 21-15. Denmark's Anders Antonsen is also into Saturday's semifinals after sweeping out Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia
