After 3 hours and 38 minutes, Rafael Nadal defeated Nick Kyrgios 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6 to advance to his 12th Australian Open quarter-final. Nadal is aiming to become the first man in the Open Era to win each of the four major championships on multiple occasions. Nadal lifted the Australian Open trophy in 2009.
